Hey folks! Jossiepops here, coming at you with some absolutely unreal news — and honestly, I’m still buzzing. If you follow my social media (and if you don’t… what are you even doing?), you might’ve seen me lose my mind the other day. And for good reason!

So, remember that mural I did of Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol? The one on the side of Hamilton Morris Waugh’s building — you know, those legends who understand that art is just as important as accounting? Well, after months of hoping and wondering if Gary had seen it… WE HAVE CONFIRMATION! 🎉

That’s right. The man himself came down to the mural, snapped a pic, and posted it to his stories. I mean… what?! I’ve been chasing this moment for nine whole months, and seeing Gary standing there with the artwork was like finding the holy grail. And yes, I did let out a very undignified squeal when I saw it.

But wait — it gets better. In his post, Gary said that Bangor is a place full of music and art, with so many incredible artists, writers, and musicians coming from here. He even gave a shout-out to the murals I’ve done of other legends from the art scene like Foy Vance and Colin Bateman, saying he’s proud to be mentioned in the same breath as them. How class is that?! And he finished by saying how proud he is to be from Bangor — honestly, same, Gary. Same. ❤️

We also went to see Snow Patrol at the Odyssey last week — and let me tell you, it was mind-blowing. Sure, it wasn’t Ward Park 4 (still holding out hope for that one, by the way), but the light show and audio experience they put on needed that venue. Absolute WORLD CLASS. 🌍 Bangor couldn’t be prouder of these guys.

So, if you haven’t yet, get yourself down to Hamilton Morris Waugh, grab a selfie with the mural, and maybe drop them a wee thank you for supporting local art. And hey, if you’re a local business thinking, “You know what my building needs? A MASSIVE FACE ON IT” you know where to find me. 😉

Thank you, Gary, for making this artist’s day (year, life). And thank you to everyone who’s supported this crazy mission to make Bangor the City of Faces. Let’s keep dreaming up big things!

Stay cool, Jossiepops
