PREORDER - Important Coffees ‘Dolly Parton’ Limited Edition Print

The Queen of Country. The Big Hair. The Absolute Legend.

Why Dolly?

Dolly Parton is one of those people who needs very little introduction.

You know the face. You know the voice. You know the songs. And you definitely know the hair.

But what really makes Dolly stand out to me is that she’s managed to become one of the biggest stars on the planet without losing that really likeable, down-to-earth thing about her.

Singer. Songwriter. Actress. Businesswoman. Philanthropist.

The woman has basically done it all.

And she seems to have done most of it while having a bloody good time. 😂

So when I was thinking about who should come next in the Important Coffees collection, Dolly was a pretty easy choice.

I wanted to paint someone instantly recognisable, but also someone who would give me plenty to play with.

And Dolly definitely gives you that.

Big hair. Big personality. Big colours.

Basically… a dream subject for a Jossiepops portrait.

From the Artist — Jossiepops

“I’ve always liked painting people who have a really strong identity.

You can take one look at Dolly and you know exactly who you’re looking at.

That’s what makes someone like her so much fun to paint.

The challenge isn’t making her look like Dolly.

The challenge is taking that face everyone already knows and somehow making it feel like a Jossiepops.

I wanted this one to be colourful, a bit chaotic and have loads going on without losing the character underneath it all.

And obviously, it had to be part of the Important Coffees collection.

Because if Dolly Parton doesn’t qualify as an Important Coffee, I’m not sure who does.

She’s an absolute icon.”
